ABOUT US

OLD TIME, NEW VIBE

In a boat collaboratively paddled against the current of modern isolation and rugged independence, Aubrey Helmuth Miller and Craig Mast joyfully create new tunes and folk songs rooted in the traditions of Old Time Appalachian mountain music and Pete Seeger-style singalongs.

Hailing from western Stark County, Ohio along the Tuscarawas river, their arrangements weave modern flavors of synth, melodica, percussion and funky grooves into the textures of traditional American folk sounds like clawhammer banjo, mandolin, guitar and fiddle.

Listen and you can't help but tap your toe, hum, hoot or holler along.

Life is short. Life is complicated. Life can be hard. And still, joy finds us. Especially when we come together to sing about it. That's the Upstream Drifter experience, simply put.

"Comfort food of music."
